Volunteering at Woodbine
Volunteers at Woodbine are dedicated individuals who share their time, talent and enthusiasm, while providing a warm and welcoming environment for patients and families.
Woodbine volunteers have a chance to learn new skills while making new friends and developing new interests. Younger volunteers use the opportunity to do some career exploration, and they realize the benefits of having a background in volunteer service when they apply for further education or employment. Research also indicates that people who volunteer live longer. Most of all, volunteers receive the satisfaction that comes from being needed and doing something very special for others.
Who can volunteer?
If you have time to spare and enjoy helping others, then volunteering is for you!
The Woodbine Volunteer Program welcomes men and women of all ages. Volunteers may be male, female, retired, employed, students, local residents or individuals from surrounding communities. These uncommon people have one common purpose -- they are dedicated to helping others.
Volunteers need no special training to get involved. Every person who is interested is interviewed. Special talents and personal schedules are matched to the needs of our residents. Most volunteers donate one time slot of approximately four hours per week; however, additional hours are always welcome.
Volunteerism offers something for everyone wishing to make their spare time special.
